I’ve been collecting records and frequenting mod/soul clubs in the UK and Europe for the last 15 years…bloody hell, where did the time go! Although I collect records, I wouldn’t say I’m a collector, my first thought is about the dancefloor and the dancer’s reaction to the records, hopefully that comes across in my selections and how my sets flow. I have been involved in promoting clubs and lucky enough to DJ at some of the biggest and best Mod, Soul and RnB clubs in the UK and Europe such as The Boiler Club, Laverone Weekender, NUTs, Euro Ye Ye, 100 Club and the of course the mighty Pow Wow. This will be my first time in Rome and I am really looking forward to spinning some records at Dance with the Devil! I made my first moves into the so-called Soul Scene in the late 90s. my hometown Genoa already had strong connections to Soul Music thanks to collectives like Black Trefoil Soul Club which is supposed to be one of the oldest clubs in Europe. Very quickly I found herself immersed in the Italian Niter scene and discovered Soul Music. Regular visits to up-front clubs like "Breakout" (Milan), "Voice your Choice" (Vincenza), "Covo" (Bologna) and the Rimini Soul Weekender since 2002 - which now i'm promoting with friends, celebrating soon the 15th birthday! - made me get deeper into it. Those events give me the opportunity to listen to great Soul Music provided by not only Italian DJs but also a lot of international guests. But Italy wasn't enough. Soul Music made me travel to the UK frequently, to events like Cleethorpes and Fleetwood (Tent), which was the place where i fall in love with 70s Soul and Crossover Soul. Most important reason - besides dancing - is the chance to meet people and share the same interest, not to say: passion! I started collecting records recently and playing them on events including new Soul club in Milan Soul Yard, that i co-organize with my friends Stefano Oggiano, Alvise Reverdini and Simone Favre. Looking forward to spin some tunes and night of dancing, beer and laughs in the bunker! Hello, I'm Emel. I'm one of Lucerne’s Rare-Soul-crafters and organizer of the NOT TOO YOUNG Swiss Soul Weekender in Lucerne. I'm part of the «Spin Club Lucerne» alongside my mentor and biggest supporter Henning von Herzen (fka. Boogaloo), playing black music from 60's to today. I started collecting HipHop samples in first place until I realized how vast Soul Music actually is, still loving the mellow, sweet and funky-edged headbanging pieces with an obscure touch. Some of you might know my «Sweet Deep & Mellow» mixtapes that depict quite well my favourite style. But don't be afraid you hopefully won't fall asleep on the event. I have never been to Rome and never danced with the devil so my knees are weakening and in my dreams and dealing with what to presente il popolo maledetto. Mi chiamo Alex, sono nato nel 1991 in provincia di Torino. Mi sono avvicinato alla scena Mod 10 anni fa e circa nello stesso periodo ho cominciato collezionare, iniziando dal Beat Italiano che trovavo per i vari mercatini e fiere della Penisola e appassionandomi nel frattempo alla musica nera in cui ora sono immerso totalmente. Una delle cose che amo di più è proprio andare all’estero a caccia di dischi, cercando di scovare rarità o curiosità. Quello che proporrò nelle mie selezioni spazierà dal Rare Soul all' R&B con qualche intermezzo di Funk, Crossover e Garage . Ho messo dischi in molte città della Penisola , in Francia, Belgio, Spagna e Germania in svariati eventi Mod, Soul e Scooteristici. A tempo perso gestisco anche un canale Youtube dove potete ascoltare qualcuno dei miei dischi . I Mitomani Beat si sono formati a Roma nella primavera del 2010 con l'intento di ricreare le atmosfere tipiche della rivoluzionaria stagione del beat italiano. Grazie ad un'approfondita ricerca dei pezzi, la cura del suono, l'uso di strumentazione d'epoca e non ultimo un look adeguato, ogni loro concerto si trasforma in un autentico tuffo nel passato. Il repertorio comprende pezzi originali, seconde versioni (cioè pezzi dell'epoca in inglese tradotti in italiano) e cover tra pezzi famosi (come "Tutto nero", "Bang bang" o "Ragazzo di strada") alternati a brani meno conosciuti ma ugualmente coinvolgenti. L'esordio è avvenuto nel giugno del 2010 e da allora hanno suonato in alcuni importanti locali della capitale quali il Circolo degli Artisti, l'Angelo Mai, il Traffic (di spalla ai britannici Barracudas), partecipando tra l'altro al "Twiggy party", al “Giovedissimo”, al “Supersanto's”, al “Cinsano Village”, alla “Notte Magnetica” ed esibendosi in numerosi festival in giro per l'Italia. Dal giugno 2010 hanno pubblicato tre demo e nel febbraio del 2014 è uscito il loro primo album di pezzi originali dal titolo "Fuori dal tempo", prodotto da Area Pirata e Green Cookie Records. A maggio del 2017 hanno pubblicato una demo di quattro pezzi, due originali e due seconde versioni. La formazione attuale comprende Marco alla voce e chitarra, Stefano al basso, "Il Maestro" all'organo, Orlando alla chitarra solista e Panta alla batteria.
