Martin Glende for Dance with the Devil - 10 Novembre @ Trenta Formiche - Roma

Here a little introduction from our friend Martin Glende, one of our guest for next Dance with the Devil at Trenta Formiche on Saturday 10th November in Rome!

 
I am a Hanover-based DJ and record collector who has been hosting funk and soul parties for years with my Studio45 friends in our hometown.
In my sets I prefer to play a danceable mix between genres like funk, soul, latin and everything in between. I always try to catch a glimpse of the dancers, no matter if it's the warming up, the prime time or the sacking. As I've already heard, the Romans are not only known for fried artichokes and the best carbonara, but even more for their exuberant celebration with Dance With The Devil. I am very proud to be there and I hope to give you a good show. Until then I do not know exactly what I will wrap up with but there are definitely discs like:

E' con grandissimo piacere che vi presentiamo la prossima band che avremo l'onore di ospitare sabato 10th Novembre live sul palco del Trenta Formiche a Roma per la seconda data di questa stagione del Dance with the devil!

Ecco a voi i fantastici New Colour!

Il soul, vissuto e suonato quotidianamente, ritorna alla sua dimensione pop, si evolve come un linguaggio alla ricerca di un sound solido ma nuovo, che non risulti copia di quegli anni '60  e '70, che sono comunque di chiara ispirazione.
Con quest'idea, i New Colour hanno costruito un repertorio originale ma immediato, e lo portano sui palchi di tutta Italia da anni, riuscendo ad emozionare il pubblico più eterogeneo.
Sweet soul groove!
Debuttano nel 2013 nella loro città, Bologna, dove collezionano concerti importanti, come l'apertura dell'unica data italiana del tour di Curtis Harding al Covo Club. Nel 2014 vincono lo Sputnik Blues Festival ed un loro brano viene scelto come sigla di un programma in onda su una tv locale. Un loro inedito viene incluso nella compilation Soul Vol.1, edita da Rockit, sulla quale appare anche Luca Sapio. Il primo singolo, "Why Did We Say Goodbye?" viene scritto nel giugno 2015. Nel 2016 è scelto dal Progetto Sonda per accompagnare Paolo Belli nel debutto di "Sonda Club", una serie di 4 vinili 45 giri colorati.
Alla fine del 2017 i New Colour pubblicano il secondo singolo, "Piece Of My Heart", e un vinile che li raccoglie entrambi. Il tour di presentazione vede molte date importanti, tra queste il Porretta Soul Festival ed il Rimini Rare Soul Weekender.
Per il futuro I New Colour si aspettano sempre più concerti, e la registrazione di un LP.

Soul Music, lived and played daily, goes back to its pop background, turning into a language looking for a tight but new sound, which is not a copy of those of the 60s and 70s, which are however a clear inspiration. With this idea, New Colour have built an original but immediate repertoire, and have been on several stages throughout Italy, being able to excite the most heterogeneous audience.
They debut in 2013 in their city, Bologna, where they collect important concerts, including Covo Club, opening the only Curtis Harding’s Italian date. In June 2014 they won the Sputnik Blues Festival and their song was chosen as an emblem of a TV show by a local broadcaster. An unpublished track is included in the compilation Soul Vol. I, reviewed by Rockit.it, where Luca Sapio also appears. Their first single "Why Did We Say Goodbye?" was written in June 2015. In 2016 it was chosen by the Sonda Project to accompany Paolo Belli in the debut of "Sonda Club", a series of 45rpm coloured vinyl. By end 2017 New Colour released their second single “Piece Of My Heart” and a 7" vinyl that encloses them both. To present it many shows are arranged, to mention a few, Rimini Rare Soul Weekender and Porretta Soul Festival.
Future plans includes more gigs, even outside Italy, and the recording of an LP.
